The answer to the first question did intrigue me. Why would tripod be insulting... Having visited your page the only thing I could think of is that crimson is a quadruped and lost a leg in an accident? Possibly a fire?
Is that why she's so driven by her work? It also raises the question of how well she could perform with her... disadvantage? Of course that's just a guess.
I also like the fact she's embarrassed about her anime collection. That's a nice touch given her 'macho' profession, adding realism to the character.
The most amazing thing she's ever seen is her old garden... has she ever tried to recreate it?
